Filter Cartridges for Bottled Water & Drinking Water Plants

Clean, clear, safe water at every stage — from source to fill

EcoFiltrone builds food-grade filter cartridges for bottled water, mineral water and drinking water bottling lines. Sediment, carbon and final filtration in true drop-in sizes, at factory-direct prices with free samples before you order.

Food-grade & FDA-compliant Sediment to sub-micron High flow, low footprint

A bottling line is only as clean as its weakest filter. Getting the filtration stages and micron ratings right protects your product, your equipment and your brand — without over-spending on cartridges. Here is how the stages fit together and what to run at each one.

Filtration stages in a water bottling line

Whether you bottle spring, mineral, purified or RO water, the filtration train follows the same logic: remove the coarse solids first, protect the sensitive equipment in the middle, and polish to the final quality just before filling. Skipping a stage doesn’t save money — it just moves the cost downstream to blocked membranes, off-taste or rejected batches.

  • Pre-filtration — sand, rust, scale and coarse sediment from the incoming source
  • Carbon polishing — chlorine, taste and odor before sensitive stages
  • RO / membrane protection — fine pre-filtration to extend membrane life
  • Final filtration — a defined sub-micron cut just before the filler

Pre-filtration & sediment removal

Incoming water — from a borehole, municipal supply or storage tank — carries sand, silt, rust and scale. A depth or high-flow cartridge at 5–20 µm protects everything downstream and stops your finer, more expensive filters from blinding off in days. For lines with heavy solids, a filter bag ahead of the cartridge stage lowers the overall cost per litre.

Carbon & taste/odor polishing

Chlorine and chloramine damage RO membranes and leave a taste customers notice. A carbon block or carbon-impregnated cartridge removes them, along with many organic off-flavors, before the water reaches the membrane or the filler. This stage matters most for municipal-source and purified-water products.

RO & membrane protection

If your line uses reverse osmosis, the cartridge directly ahead of the membrane is doing protective, not decorative, work. A 1–5 µm pre-filter keeps particulates off the membrane surface, holds down the SDI and buys you months of extra membrane life. For seawater or high-fouling sources, see our seawater desalination pre-filtration approach.

Final / sub-micron filtration before filling

The last cartridge before the filler sets the microbiological and clarity standard of the bottled product. Pleated cartridges at 0.2–1 µm give a defined, validatable cut. For sterile-grade bottling, an integrity-testable membrane is used — covered on our final & sterile filtration page.

It depends on the stage. Pre-filtration is typically 5–20 µm, RO protection 1–5 µm, and final filtration before filling 0.2–1 µm. Send us your source water and product spec and we’ll recommend a full train.

Yes. Our bottled-water media and hardware use materials compliant with recognized food-contact standards
